The Day Camp Experience
A New Adventure Every Day
We keep it SAFE & FUN so that your camper can make new friends, discover new things, learn new skills and grow in confidence all day long!
Our Day Campers Love
Your Child is Our #1 Priority
Before your child arrives at camp, we’ve carefully considered and prepared to provide the safest experience possible. Here are just some of the measures we’ve taken:
First Aid Trained Staff
Each day camp site has staff who hold current emergency first aid training
Food Allergens
We’re nut safe! All snacks provided by Forest Cliff are pre-packaged and nut free. Parents are asked to send nut-free snacks and lunches and our staff keep an eye out for anything that may have been forgotten!
TSSA Inspected
Forest Cliff Camp is licensed to operate Amusement Inflatable Devices (License #000248080). We complete all annual inspections and operate according to TSSA regulations.
Hydration
We stay hydrated! Campers bring their water bottle with them all day long. We do regular fill-ups and take scheduled water breaks.
Sun Safety
Hats, sunglasses and sunblock – we stay safe in the sun! Campers apply sunblock before going outside and then reapply every 2 hours.
Weather Day Activities
The rain or heat doesn’t stop the fun. Our staff have alternative activities and games for inside when the weather isn’t nice. On very hot days, we modify our activities and follow our 20-10 rule: 20 mins of play and 10 mins of water and shade
Supervision
Each day camp site has 18 fully trained staff to ensure that all campers are having a safe and fun experience. We have a Site Leader, Care Lead, Media Manager, Administrative Assistant, Area Leader and 13 Group Leaders to supervise our campers!
Bathroom Policy
Dedicated bathrooms for campers and dedicated bathrooms for staff.
Day Camp FAQ
At Forest Cliff, we want all children to feel like they belong and so we strive to ensure every camper is given individual attention and is included in our experiences. At Day Camp, we do not provide 1:1 support but rather collaborate with families in order to provide a successful day camp experience for both camper and their existing support worker. If your child has complex needs and has 1:1 support at school (ie. EA, Support Worker, Respite Worker, etc) or you believe the assistance of your existing 1:1 support worker would enable your child to best experience Day Camp, please email support@forestcliff.ca!
Anyone picking up a camper must be on the authorized pick-up list, and will be required to show photo ID. Ensure that the photo ID matches the way the name appears on the pick-up list. If information changes, please notify us as soon as possible to update permissions.
Parents/guardians are not required to sign out their ACTor at the end of the day.
ACT is a junior high camp experience (for campers who have completed grades 6-8) where your child will participate in team building & leadership training, in addition to ALL the fun of our Day Camp activities!
It’s helpful if you contact the Day Camp admin by phone or email to inform us if your camper will be absent. If we do not receive notice of your camper’s absence, we will reach out to check in.
If possible, please let us know in advance that your camper needs to leave early. Contact the Day Camp admin by email (daycamps@forestcliff.ca) or phone (519-913-2744). Upon arrival, check in with the Day Camp office to sign out your child.
Anyone picking up a camper(s) must be on the pre-authorized pick-up list, and will be required to show photo ID. Ensure that the photo ID matches the way the name appears on the pick-up list. If you need to add someone to your child’s pick-up list, please contact our London office (info@forestcliff.ca or 519-913-2744 x 100). Once ID has been verified, the camper(s) can then be picked up from their group(s).
You will want to send your camper with a hat, sunscreen, water bottle, closed-toed shoes, lunch and snacks (peanut/tree nut safe). On Water Wednesday please send your camper with water shoes (or shoes that can get wet), a bathing suit, an extra t-shirt (required for water activities), a towel, and a plastic bag for wet items.
Our Day Camp programs are on the property of the church we are partnering with. So everything is onsite, right where the parent / guardian checks in their camper(s).
